Acura MDX Prototype

The 2014 Acura MDX Prototype, which previews the next generation of Acura's luxury SUV, will be unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.Honda said the MDX Prototype uses "Aero Sculpture" design language, thus shedding the MDX's hard edges.
One teaser image of the 2014 MDX Prototype was released, showing that the upcoming MDX is likely to keep its current proportions, but with a softer, rounder look.
"The 2014 MDX Prototype will feature alluring proportions with smooth, arching body lines matched to an efficient architecture," said Honda in a statement on Wednesday.
It did not release any technical specifications about the new MDX. The current MDX is in its seventh model year. It is likely that Honda will offer a 2014 MDX with improved fuel economy, as the current model has a thirst for premium fuel. The EPA says the 2013 Acura MDX 4WD returns 16 mpg in city driving and 21 mpg on the highway.
The base 2013 Acura MDX starts at $44,175, including an $895 destination charge.
The 2014 Acura MDX targets the BMW X5, Buick Enclave and Volvo XC90.
